The Fourth of July weekend was very hot and sunny, but today we are enjoying our first rain in weeks. It is rather pleasant. The festival in our area was a lot of fun and conveniently right outside our front door. The street vendors came in the greatest variety I think I have ever seen. There was: all kinds of food, art, photography, music, tarot readers, henna painters, street preachers damning unbelievers to hell, “spiritual readings” (something to do with “the laying of hands”), drummers, belly dancers, chiropractors, people trying to sell you new windows for your home, massage therapists, musicians, potters, and last but not least, pirates. Oh and there was also a huge firework show later in the evening AND I saw my first airshow! It was all so exciting and at times bizarre. We enjoyed the day so much, that Sunday was spent primarily recovering…
