I love this time of year. I always feel most inspired in the fall. I haven’t been on my computer as often as I usually am, but I have been enjoying a much needed creative break. I started a new knitting project, I’m attempting to learn some basic embroidery, I’ve been cooking, and I’m venturing back into the world of doll making. (More on this if the second attempt proves more successful.)
At the moment I have a very fragrant spice cake in the oven. Perfectly fall-ish! I bought a copy of the October Martha Stewart Living last week and decided to attempt the roasted pumpkin soup. It was so very good! And almost easy! My only complaint is that the recipe claimed prep time would be five minutes. Really Martha? I defy you to cube a pumpkin in that short amount of time even given a chainsaw. Come on now!
I left the magazine at work so I will post the recipe later. I highly recommend it! The spice cake recipe came from here. It’s not my favorite, so if you have a better one let me know. Actually, if you have any favorite fall recipes I would love to hear about them. Until then, here are some lovely pictures to get you in the autumn spirit…
