What have I been doing instead of blogging? Well, a few things. Fall is my creative Muse. Perhaps that is a rather grand statement for my humble offerings, but I do love it all the same.
The beginnings of a warm cozy winter blanket…

Embroidery thread I “borrowed” from my mom. Some of it even belonged to my grandmother and still has the 10 cent price tag.

My little gyspy doll for a very special friend of mine. There just may be more gypsies to come!

Among other projects I’m determined to read the full manual for my camera so that I can take better pictures. So many things to do, so little fall.
What have you all been spending your free time with?
I love the colors of embroidery thread! And that might be the most beautiful yarn I’ve ever seen.
She’s alive. Thank the dear universe, she is alive!
You’re amazing! I can’t wait to see the finished blanket (how long do you think that will take?) and I love love the gypsy doll! how did you do it? do tell, do tell.
I wish I could knit. I have had lessons, but for some reason crochet is easier for me. I like the embroidery floss photo, you could use that one for a card. It says all kinds of things about potential.
I don’t get a lot of free time, but fall inspires me too. I made a rice kitty and a kitty toy for the cat.

Thank you for the comments! Considering that it takes me nearly 25 minute to knit one row, I’m afraid the blanket may take a very long time indeed. It may also end up being more like a parachute, but I’m not turning back now! I will have more details on my little gypsy as soon as she is finished and ready for a full proper photo shoot. She is made from a red art clay which I sculpted and let dry for several weeks before painting.
Ah, you are up to a lot of lovely projects.
I recently made a tapestry patch in the shape of a heart (using embroidery floss) and used it to patch the knee of my jeans. Made a Halloween card for Sofia and Marco, off to Italy with it. I suppose you are right it is a creative time.
wonderful creativity all!!! the gyspy doll is looking as amazing as i knew she would. can’t wait! ;) fall is sooo magnificent…sometimes i wish i could just burrow into a pile of leaves with just my face out but blend in like a fairy so i could just observe the world unobserved…
