Searching for a (Dream) Job

doorway

I’m feeling a little discouraged today as I desperately try to find a job. I need one as soon as possible, but I’m finding it hard to let go of the yearning for that “perfect” job (which I don’t think lies in my immediate future). The problem is: I don’t know exactly what it is I want to do. I want to work somewhere I can feel I’m having a positive impact and I would love to be doing something creative. I guess my true dream job would be to live like those quirky lady authors at the turn-of-the-century. I would find some little cottage in the country where I could write in a garden and live a somewhat hermit-like lifestyle. That sounds so lovely…

Reading the News and Dreaming of Other Places

I got home from school today and turned on the TV to the news of the plane that crash landed on the Hudson River. It’s extraordinary that all passengers survived. What a story! So often we get completely caught up in our own singular lives that we forget about how we fit into the greater picture. What is currently happening in Israel is tragic. No matter how you view it politically, it has worldwide repercussions and we should be aware. When traveling I have found it very humbling to discover how informed people are of world events. Often I would meet Europeans far more educated about what was happening in my country than I was…

I also think it’s important to love and revel in beautiful things and places so I am posting some pictures from this addictive site. I do think that I could spend the rest of my life in some these places and be nearly perfectly happy…
