If flowers don’t quite suite your fancy at the moment, stroll over this way for some chandeliers and corsetry…

Weekend

It has been raining constantly. It’s beginning to feel like it’s been forever. Of course, it’s also what makes the Pacific Northwest so unbelievably green. On those precious days when the sun does come out it is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Hopefully we will see more of that ahead. I’m afraid the summer might skip us altogether…

Thank you for your feedback on my last post. Going forward I plan to reply to your comments here in the comments section. I will, of course, still be visiting and commenting at your blogs as well.

Here are a few photos I took a few weeks ago while experimenting with my little camera. I’m trying to get in the habit of doing this more often. It’s so much fun and I’m learning so much whenever I take the time.

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Recreating the Past

I recently discovered Poladroid, the little desktop Polaroid camera that  will convert any photo you wish into a nostalgic memory-that-never-was. How did it take me so long to discover this??? I know those of you with iPhones can do this rather easily and I suspect photoshop does this too, buuuut… none of them make the cool Polaroid sound effect and are free to download! Quite a bit of what I converted mostly served as a reminder as to why digital cameras have taken over, but here are a few that I rather liked. Enjoy!

Away, away come away with me

Do you feel like running away sometimes? I do. Would you like to come? Where shall we go? Lately I’ve been longing for the coast…

The Cello: The Souls Voice

I have always promised myself that I will learn to play the cello before I die. I have a violin so I need to learn that first. Unfortunately, an apartment is not the most accommodating place for acquiring new musical skills. Eventually I will be back in a house. Wherever and whenever this happens it must have a music room. I can’t wait for the day I will be reunited with my piano…

Aren’t these images inspiring? What music are you listening to these days?

And if I were to ever get a tattoo it would look something like this piece by Man Ray …

Old-Fashioned Writing…

Lately I have been wanting to acquire a charming old-fashioned typewriter. I don’t necessarily envision it as “showpiece”, but I would like to actually use it. The sound alone seems so therapeutic. This one looks perfectly lovely doesn’t it?

Worth 1,000 Words…

There are some amazing photographers on Etsy. Here are some of my favorites. The first two are from a shop called “Courage my love” which I think is simply beautiful… Click on the photos to link to the artist’s shop.

More beautiful places…

I guess I have been lost in day dream land this past week…

I could almost live here, but I would miss the trees…

The green tree reminds me of a plate I painted once.

The top photograph I found here along with a lot of other beautiful ones. The next two are from this amazing photographer that I have admired before. The last is my own poor quality image of a plate I painted a while ago.
